LIR Approach

Lir Anti-racism Training and Education is delivered by experienced and trained facilitators, using a community and development education approach. Modules can be modified to meet the needs of each client group.

The following are the core modules of our training and education programme:

  • Migration and Immigration
  • Refugees and Asylum Seekers
  • Culture and Communications
  • Stereotypes and Prejudices
  • Travellers
  • Power and Discrimination
  • Individual and Institutional Racism
  • Models of Good Practice

In each of our modules, course participants become familiar with legislative provisions and definitions dealing with racism and prejudice.

Lir Anti-racism Training and Education programmes are delivered using a range of methodologies that promote discussion and interaction, including group discussions, role play, creative brainstorming and experiential learning.

Participants in our training programme are offered an opportunity to provide feedback on their experience of the course, and we use this to continually improve our content. We also assess all evaluations and can make suggestions to organisations on areas for further training arising from this.
