LIR Experience
Lir Anti-racism Training and Education has been delivering programmes to statutory, community and voluntary organisations since 1998.
Our team of associates who facilitate our training programmes is led by Alice Davis.
Alice spent a number of years working in development projects in Africa, and has first-hand experience of the circumstances that many asylum seekers are attempting to flee.
After returning from Africa, Alice worked in the Irish Welfare and Information Centre in Birmingham, where she conducted outreach work with the Irish community. Due to her extensive experience in immigration and migration issues, Alice served as the Irish representative on the Migrants Forum in Europe.
Over the past ten years, Alice has worked in the South Inner City in Dublin and has witnessed the increase in the diversity of the community.
Alice is a qualified trainer, and holds a number of qualifications in management, advanced facilitation and adult education.
All of the associates who assist Alice in the delivery of Lir's training programmes are qualified facilitators, and are experienced in the areas of immigration, race-relations and discrimination.
The Board of Lir Anti-racism Training and Education comprises representatives of the community, voluntary and statutory sector and includes representatives from the Health Services Executive and National Traveller MABS.
